I founded this resort in the late 1980's. Working in the Mpls/St.Paul, MN metropolitan area as a computer programmer/analyst, I had gotten tired of the metro hussle and bussle. Being from International Falls, Mn, I knew the time had come to leave the metro area after losing my job for the second time in under 5 years.

I decided to leave the Mpls/St.Paul area and pursue the dream I had always had - to own my own fishing and hunting resort. I was able to attain a business loan, find some beautiful property just North of Ely, MN, and here I am.

Located just over 30 minutes North of Ely, MN, Jim's Fishing and Hunting Resort has numerous pristine lakes available for fishing, swimming, and camping. The lakes also provide outstanding duck hunting in the fall. The vast Northeastern Minnesota wilderness also provides the highest quality of Whitetail Deer, Black Bear, and Moose hunting the state has to offer. We also offer and provide the best hunting and fishing guides available to help make your hunting trip a complete success.
